HP smart app keeps saying 

 
A custom printer password has been set. Enter the password or contact your IT administrator to access the printer's web interface.
Can't figure out what to do

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

You might have to reset the printer to change the password;

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
