Hi @Faisal1985,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 2720 printer consistently jams when trying to print on A4 paper size, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Use High-Quality Paper:

  • Ensure you are using high-quality A4 paper that meets the printer's specifications. Low-quality or improperly stored paper can cause jams.

2. Check Paper Tray Alignment:

  • Make sure the paper guides in the paper tray are adjusted snugly against the edges of the paper stack. Improper alignment can lead to skewed feeding and jams.

3. Inspect Paper Condition:

  • Check the paper for any bends, folds, or damage. Even minor imperfections can cause jams.

4. Load Paper Correctly:

  • Load the A4 paper into the paper tray with the print side facing down. Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the paper stack.

5. Clear Paper Jams Properly:

  • If a jam occurs, follow the printer's manual or on-screen instructions to clear the jam carefully. Pulling stuck paper forcefully can damage internal components.

6. Clean Paper Feed Rollers:

  • Paper feed rollers can accumulate dust and debris, causing feeding issues. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water or isopropyl alcohol.

7. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can include improvements that address paper handling and printing issues.

8. Adjust Printer Settings:

  • In the printer settings on your computer or through the printer's control panel:
    • Ensure the paper size settings match the A4 paper loaded in the tray.
    • Verify that the paper type settings (e.g., plain paper) are correct.

9. Perform Printer Reset:

  • Sometimes, resetting the printer can resolve persistent issues. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
