About every 30 minutes or so I get an alert that scan to pc connection is lost.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

 

"Scan to Computer" is one of those optional features that is perhaps not set up -- or is set up, and is not enabled.

 

Reminder to those reading

Scan to Computer requires that the full driver printer software is installed.

 

  • If the printer software is installed, the unwanted notice can be disabled in Taskbar > Startup apps > one or more of "ScanToPCActivationApp"

and / or

  • The setting in the Scan Assistant that enables Scan to Computer each time Windows is started can be shut off.
  • The "off" setting is useful if you do not use the feature OR if you only use the feature occasionally and are willing to enable "Scan to Computer" when you need it.
