Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every HP printer I have in my environment will no longer connect to the network. It all started a couple of weeks ago. I have replaced WAPs, network switches and re-configured the network. The printers will not pull an IP address via DHCP. (169.254.15.26) I have even tried to do a MAC reservations through the Sonicwall Router. I have tried manually setting up the IP and it will finally pass all the wireless tests except internet. When printing the Network Page, it will show PASS on all sections except for connection to internet. This is only affecting the HP printers on site, the other brands of printers are all connected and available to print.

Hi @JohnR3311,

I'd like to help!

To assist better -

  1. What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?
  2.  I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?
  3. Is the printer connected to a home or public network?

Keep me posted.

I ended up having to create another 2.4 SSID just for the printers with simple WPA encryption. It turns out that if you are using Araknis WAPs, there is a problem with the 5ghz and WPA2-PSK encryption and the printers.

The printers are not compatible with the 5 GHz network.
