Hi @15186031086,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 2742e printer isn’t connecting to the internet or your devices, here are a few troubleshooting steps to try.
Check Your Network
- Verify Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working and that other devices are connected to it.
- Network Band: Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) as your phone or computer.
Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Router: Restart your router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart.
- Phone/Computer: Restart the device you are trying to connect to the printer.
Reconfigure Wi-Fi on Printer
- Printer Menu: Go to the printer’s control panel or settings menu, find the Wi-Fi setup option, and follow the prompts to reconnect it to your network.
- Wi-Fi Setup Wizard: Use the printer’s Wi-Fi setup wizard to search for and connect to your network.
Use HP Smart App
- HP Smart App: Download and open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
- Add Printer: Use the app to find and connect to your printer. The app should guide you through the steps to connect your printer to the network.
Check Printer’s IP Address
- Print Network Configuration Page: If possible, print a network configuration page from the printer’s menu to check its IP address.
- Access Printer’s Web Interface: Enter the IP address in a web browser on your computer to access the printer’s web interface and verify network settings.
Firmware and Software Updates
- Printer Firmware: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP website and follow the instructions to update it.
- Software Updates: Ensure your phone or computer’s operating system and the HP Smart app are up-to-date.
Reset Network Settings
- Printer Reset: If all else fails, you might need to reset the network settings on the printer to start from scratch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
