I suspect that means that the printer is not in wifi direct mode. The wireless radio needs to be on so you can print directly to the printer and bypass the router
General help for new modem
1 - Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer
2 - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change
3 - HP Smart help with printer connection.
Please provide the exact model name of the printer for better assistance as there may be videos to show how to connect.
Also, let me know if you have a flex system (WiFi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is more complicated.
