I am trying to connect an HP Envy 6055 wireless printer via my broadband provider and my iPhone.

The broadband Bluetooth IOS Bluetooth section  shows the printer. Checked it. Next screen asks for a password.  It is NOT the broadband router access password. HP says to get the password, I need a Macintosh computer. I don’t have a Mac. I only have the most current and up to date iPhone. Wash, rinse repeat.

Hi @TMitchell757,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

When connecting your HP Envy 6055 wireless printer to your broadband provider via your iPhone, it may ask for a password, which could refer to the Wi-Fi Direct password or the Wi-Fi password depending on the setup method you are using. Here are the steps to connect your printer:

Method 1: Using Wi-Fi Direct

Enable Wi-Fi Direct on the Printer:

  • On your HP Envy 6055 printer, press and hold the Information button until all control panel buttons light up.
  • Press the Wi-Fi Direct and Information buttons at the same time to print a Wi-Fi Direct guide. The guide includes the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.

Connect Your iPhone to the Printer’s Wi-Fi Direct:

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Select the Wi-Fi Direct name (something like "DIRECT-xx-HP Envy 6055").
  • Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password printed on the guide.

Install the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store.
  • Open the app, tap the Plus sign to add your printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect and set up your printer.

Method 2: Using Your Wi-Fi Network

Put the Printer in Setup Mode:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer until the Power button starts flashing. This indicates that the printer is in setup mode.

Connect Your iPhone to Your Wi-Fi Network:

  • Ensure your iPhone is connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Install the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store.
  • Open the app, tap the Plus sign to add your printer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • The app will detect the printer in setup mode and prompt you to enter your Wi-Fi network password to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

If you Still Encounter Issues

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer until the Power button starts blinking. This resets the network settings.
  • Retry the connection process.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date by checking for updates in the HP Smart app.

If you continue to experience issues, consider contacting HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
