I could print to my hp 5740 printer from my Samsung s23 ultra (android 14) without issue using default print service. Then I added hp smart plugin apps to print word doc and it stopped working. I removed all hp apps from phone and rebooted onto my home wifi. Also unplugged 5740 printer completely and restarted and reconnected to home wifi using its setup wizard and it successfully connected to home wifi with new ip (10.0.0.55). It did not show up on printer list on phone when I tried to add printer using default. I tried to connect using ip but phone did not recognize phone ip. Put hp smart and service plugin apps back on phone and the hp5740 printer showed up but it says that printer is unavailable. I tried whole procedure again with an hp 3830 (both printers are listed as supported by hp for these apps) but it won't print either. The phone default print service still shows the hp5740 ip listed as the original ip (10.0.0.46) so I may need to reset the default printer app on the Samsung (will research how to do this). These ip's seem to be generated by the printer as simplified versions of the original ip it creates but I can't find that original ip anymore on the printer details. This is very frustrating as it worked great beforehand with even all the options like number pages, number copies,landscape/portrait all working. There must be some conflict with the default print and the hp print services and i haven't cleared them out properly. Is there a spooler in the phone or the printer that needs flushing? Please help.
