Hi @LizTw,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the WiFi light on your HP DeskJet 2720e All-In-One Printer won't stay on, it might indicate a connectivity issue.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and find the SSID for your printer and PC:
Troubleshooting the WiFi Light Issue
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- Ensure the printer is turned on.
- Press and hold the WiFi button on the printer for about 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
- Release the button, and the WiFi light should start blinking. Wait for it to stop blinking and stay on.
Restart Printer and Router:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your WiFi router by unplugging it from the power source for about 60 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Check Printer’s Wireless Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or setup menu.
- Select the option to connect to a network. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your WiFi network.
Ensure Network Compatibility:
- Verify that your printer and router are both operating on the same WiFi frequency (2.4 GHz is often used for printers).
- Check for any wireless interference or distance issues between the printer and router.
Finding the SSID
For the Printer:
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer. This can usually be done through the printer’s control panel or settings menu. The report will list the network information, including the SSID.
For the PC:
Windows 11:
- Click on the Network icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen).
- Click on Network & Internet settings.
- Under Advanced network settings, click on Hardware properties. This will show you the network name (SSID) to which your PC is currently connected.
Windows 10:
- Click on the Network icon in the system tray.
- Select Network & Internet settings.
- Click on View your network properties. You will find the SSID listed as Network name.
If you’re still having issues, you might want to check if there’s a firmware update available for the printer Update the firmware on an HP printer
