Hi @poolside323,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 6230 printer's blue light is flashing and you can't print after changing your internet provider, it likely indicates an issue with the printer's connection to the new network. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Reconnect the Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network
Restore Network Settings:
- On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for 3 seconds to restore the network settings to default.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to reconnect to the new Wi-Fi network.
- HP Smart App Method:
- Download and open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to the app and connect it to the new Wi-Fi network.
- WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Method:
- On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router.
- HP Smart App Method:
Check Printer Status
- Printer is Online:
- Ensure that the blue wireless light is solid (not blinking), indicating that the printer is connected to the network.
- Printer Software:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer driver and software installed. You can download it from the HP Support website.
Print a Network Configuration Page
- On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time to print a Network Configuration Page.
- Check the page to verify that the printer has a valid IP address and is connected to the correct network.
Update Printer IP Address (if necessary)
- If the IP address has changed due to the new network, update the printer IP address in your computer's printer settings.
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP OfficeJet 6230 and select Properties.
- Update the IP address in the Ports tab.
Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, router, and computer. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
Firewall/Security Software
- Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer to ensure it is not blocking the printer connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
