Hi @gwrsr,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Connecting your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer to a new WiFi network is a straightforward process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set it up:
Step 1: Prepare for Setup
- Ensure the printer is powered on and in a ready state.
- Locate your WiFi network name (SSID) and password. You will need these to connect the printer to your network.
Step 2: Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- Restore Network Defaults:
- On the printer control panel, tap the Wireless icon or open the Network Settings menu.
- Go to Restore Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults and confirm your choice. This will clear any previous network settings.
Step 3: Connect the Printer to Your WiFi Network
Open the Wireless Setup Wizard:
- On the printer control panel, tap the Wireless icon or open the Network Settings menu.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select Your Network:
- The printer will search for available networks. When your network name (SSID) appears in the list, select it.
Enter Your Network Password:
- When prompted, enter your WiFi network password (WPA or WPA2). Make sure to enter the password correctly, as it is case-sensitive.
- After entering the password, the printer will attempt to connect to the network.
Step 4: Install or Update Printer Software on Your Computer
Download the HP Smart App:
- Go to the HP Smart app download page on your Windows 10 computer.
- Download and install the HP Smart app.
Add Your Printer to HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app and sign in or create an HP account if you don’t have one.
- Click the Add Printer button or the Plus (+) sign.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your WiFi network.
Step 5: Confirm Printer Connection
- Print a Wireless Network Test Report:
- On the printer control panel, go to the Network Settings menu.
- Select Print Reports or Print Network Configuration Page.
- Check the report to confirm that the printer is connected to the correct network.
