macOS 12.0 Monterey

I am trying to connect my printer to a new wifi network as I have moved house. When I go to the HP app on my laptop and my phone, it is unable to detect my HP Deskjet 3760 if I try to add it as a new device. It already appears as a device but is not connected. There is no way to remove it. When I try to connect as a new device, it says 'please make sure your device is connected to wifi,' which is precisely what I am trying to do. Please help!

@giw478274892, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Connecting Your HP Deskjet 3760 to a New Wi-Fi Network!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To connect your HP Deskjet 3760 to a new Wi-Fi network after moving, follow these steps:

Printer Reset:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute before replugging and turning it back on. This can reset minor connection issues.

Wi-Fi Setup Mode:

  • Most HP printers have a Wi-Fi setup mode that enables them to be detected by your HP app. To activate this on your Deskjet 3760:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer until it starts blinking. This indicates that the printer is ready to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your laptop or phone.
  • Open the HP Smart app and select “Add Printer” or locate your existing printer listed and attempt reconnecting from there.
  • The app will search for printers in Wi-Fi setup mode and should detect your Deskjet 3760.

Connect to Wi-Fi:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions in the HP Smart app to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your network’s SSID and password.

Reboot Devices:

  • Restart your router and ensure your laptop or phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you plan to connect your printer to.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
