I am being driven to distraction so I really hope someone can kindly help! I have a new router and now I can't print. I've tried following the HP app, going online for guidance, restarting my laptop, router and printer but to no avail. I've got the wifi and WPS to flash at each other but not connect. The control panel on my printer doesn't match what it says in the guide - it doesn't have settings options, etc, it's just a bunch of icons on a thin strip on the left hand side of the printer. I press the info button and it prints screeds of stuff telling me it's offline, which I already know. The app on my laptop doesn't have a utilities option that it suggests could hold the key. I've tried numerous troubleshooting guides and run automatic checks but to no avail. What can I do now?? As you've probably guessed, I'm not technically minded in the slightest... Home schooling is a nightmare anyway but this has made it a hundred times worse, so please can somebody be my saving grace??

Hi @Jippywhippet,

I'd like to help!

● Press the Wireless button ((i)) and the Cancel button (X) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Please try the steps below to connect your printer to the network.

-->On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Resume button together for three seconds. (When Wi-Fi Direct is turned on, the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display stays on)

--->On your computer or phone go to wifi and connect it to your printer

--->Select your printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks (example: DIRECT-74-HP Deskjet2600).

--->Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer signal in Wi-Fi settings

--->If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.

--->Now open a browser and type 192.168.223.1

--->you will be able to access the printer's EWS page

--->on the page, you will find network - click on it

--->go to wireless and select wireless setup wizard

--->now select the network that you want your printer to connect to and type in the password

--->the printer will have solid blue light if it's connected

--->then connect your phone back to your network

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the printer. It's working now from some of my devices but not others so I'll give this a try too thanks.

Could I know what other devices, so I could provide you other steps that might help.

If the printer is already connected to the network, the above steps will not help.

Let me know!

It's working OK from phones just not the laptop every time. I'll persevere as at least it's printing some  of the time now!

What is the operating system on your computer?
