Yes, during step 4 of the setup process for the Deskjet 2823e, your mobile device needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network that the printer will be using. This allows your device to send the network credentials to the printer so it can join the Wi-Fi network.

If you're using HP's Smart app for setup, the app guides you through connecting both your mobile device and printer to the same network. Make sure the Wi-Fi connection on your phone is stable to avoid any issues during setup.
