Hi @GMAJANE36,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
When an HP Deskjet printer displays an error code like "E0" along with flashing lights, it usually indicates a hardware or connectivity issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this problem.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a couple of minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This simple reset can sometimes resolve minor issues.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if you haven't detected a paper jam visually, it's a good idea to check thoroughly. Open all accessible covers and check for any torn pieces of paper or debris that might be causing a jam. Even a small piece of paper can trigger the error code.
- Inspect Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and seated in their respective slots. Sometimes, an improperly installed cartridge can cause errors. Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
- Check for Obstructions: Look inside the printer for any obstructions such as foreign objects or debris that may be blocking the printer mechanism. Carefully remove any obstructions you find.
- Update Firmware/Software: Check if there are any firmware or software updates available for your printer model on the HP support website. Updating the firmware or software can often resolve compatibility issues and bugs that may be causing the error.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
