My HP Envy 4520 keeps losing wifi connection to all my devices - android phones, tablets and Win11 laptop. The only way I can print anything is to unplug the printer, wait a few minutes and then switch it back on, after that it's OK for a few hours then next time I need to print I have to go through the same process. The printer did a software update a few weeks ago

Hi @Dudleian1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 4520 printer is consistently losing its Wi-Fi connection, resulting in you having to restart it frequently to reconnect, here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
- Location: Ensure your printer is within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router. Avoid placing it too far away or in areas with heavy interference (e.g., near microwaves, cordless phones).
- Signal Strength: Check the Wi-Fi signal strength on the printer’s display. If it’s weak, try moving the printer closer to the router.
2. Restart Network Devices
- Restart Router and Printer:
- Turn off your printer and unplug it.
- Unplug your Wi-Fi router, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
- Wait for the router to fully restart, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Check for Updates:
- Go to the HP website and download the latest firmware for the Envy 4520 if available.
- Follow the instructions to update your printer’s firmware.
4. Assign a Static IP Address
- Access Router Settings:
- Log into your router’s settings page via a web browser. The default address is often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
- Look for the DHCP settings and find your printer’s IP address.
- Assign Static IP:
- Assign a static IP address to the printer that is outside the range of the DHCP pool.
- This ensures that the printer keeps the same IP address, reducing connectivity issues.
5. Change Wi-Fi Channel
- Access Router Settings:
- Log into your router’s settings.
- Look for Wi-Fi settings and change the channel. Channels 1, 6, and 11 are usually good choices for 2.4 GHz networks to avoid interference.
6. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- Reset Printer’s Network Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup or Wireless Settings.
- Select Restore Network Settings or similar option.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
