Common problems for Connectivity Issues

MY HP ENVY6455E is not letting me update it, and it is saying that it cannot read the cartridges

Try these steps:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  1. Turn off the Printer:
    • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Open Cartridge Access Door:
    • Open the cartridge access door.
  3. Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
    • Remove the cartridges from their slots.
    • Inspect the contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer for any debris or damage.
    • Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their respective slots.

2. Clean Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the Printer:
    • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Open Cartridge Access Door:
    • Open the cartridge access door.
  3. Remove Cartridges:
    • Remove both ink cartridges.
  4. Clean Contacts:
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the contact points on the cartridges.
    • Allow the contacts to dry before reinserting the cartridges.
  5. Reinsert Cartridges:
    • Place the cartridges back into their respective slots and ensure they are securely installed.

3. Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the Printer:
    • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the Printer:
    • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 Seconds:
    • Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the Printer:
    • Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn On the Printer:
    • Press the power button to turn the printer back on.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

5. Use HP Smart App

  1. Install HP Smart App:
  2. Reconfigure Printer:
    • Open the HP Smart app.
    • Follow the instructions to add and update your printer through the app.

6. Check for Windows Updates

  1. Open Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security.
  2. Check for Updates:
    • Ensure all available updates for Windows are installed.
