HI @Adetona,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having an issue with your printer (model 2700) not staying in WPS mode long enough to establish a connection with your router using the WPS PIN. This can be a common issue due to various reasons. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this:

Check WPS Settings on Router: Ensure that WPS is enabled on your router and that it supports the WPS PIN method. Some routers have a time limit for how long the WPS mode is active.

Timing: As soon as you get the WPS PIN from your printer, enter it immediately into your router's configuration page. There is usually a limited time (often around 2 minutes) during which the WPS connection attempt must be made.

Printer Setup: Initiate the WPS connection on your printer right before or right after you enable WPS on the router. Check your printer’s manual for specific instructions on how to do this properly.

Restart Both Devices: Turn off both your router and printer, wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on. This can help reset any temporary communication or software issues.

Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer or router. An outdated firmware can lead to connectivity issues.

Alternative Setup Methods: If WPS continues to fail, consider setting up the printer connection manually. This can usually be done by connecting the printer to the network using a standard Wi-Fi setup through the printer's control panel where you manually enter the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
