Hi @Vikram48,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Understanding Cold Reset:
- A cold reset typically resets some settings on the printer but not necessarily passwords or network configurations which are designed to be more secure.
Contact IT or Administrator:
- It seems like the secure password might be set by an administrator. If you're within an organization, check with your IT department or whoever manages your printer settings.
Manual Reset via Hardware Button:
- If the cold reset method you're using (Cancel and Left button) isn’t working on specific printers, it could be due to firmware differences or security settings that prevent such resets.
Use Embedded Web Server:
- If you can access any printer from a direct connection (e.g., USB), use the HP software to perform resets or updates.
- Try resetting network settings separately, as sometimes clearing these can disable password protections inadvertently.
Consider Firmware Reinstallation:
- In cases where access is heavily restricted, reinstalling firmware via USB might refresh the system.
I hope this helps.
