Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

2755e

I have an HP 2755e.  Firmware is up-to-date.  I print from a Mac with OS15.0.  The printer constantly shows as disconnected when I try to print on it.  From the printer side, it says that it is connected to the wireless, but not to the internet.   From my mac, it is not.  When I reboot it, it works fine, for one print or so.  I downloaded the HP Smart Print App, and this does not seem to help.  I'd prefer to stay with HP but this is maddening.  Note that the printer is 5 feet unobstructed from the router.

Note that I already ran the HP Smart App Diagnose and Fix.  It detected no issues.

Update the printer firmware

HP regularly releases new firmware versions with printer enhancements or issue fixes. Update firmware on a regular basis to make sure you are getting the most out of your printer.

CAUTION:Do not turn off the printer during a firmware update. This can permanently damage your printer.

From the printer control panel (network printers only): Many HP printers with control panel menus can install updates directly from HP. Updating the firmware from the control panel varies by printer model.

For example, touch the Setup icon , touch Printer Maintenance, touch Update Printer, and then touch Check Now. Any new updates install automatically.

From the HP Smart app: From the app home screen, click the image of your printer, and then click Advanced Settings. From the EWS, click the Printer Update tile or click Printer Updates under Manage, and then click Check Now. Any new updates install automatically.

From the HP website: Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, follow the prompts to open the downloads page for your printer. Click Download next to any updates listed under Firmware, and then open and follow the HP Printer Update prompts to update the firmware.

Clicking Download under the Firmware section

For more information, go to Update the firmware on an HP printer.

Hi HawkEye,

As I mentioned in my initial description, I have followed all of the steps you mention, power cycle, update firmware and run diagnostics without luck.  The firmware was already at the latest and the diagnostic came up with nothing.  Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Doug

I have an HP Envy 600 Series but a very similar situation. I have an ASUS Mesh network with over 20 devices connected and NONE of them ever have a connectivity problem. My printer will connect for a day or two but then I come into my office and find the printer blinking yellow and I have to unplug it to reconnect. The firmware is up to date, the HP Smart app shows no errors or issues, and I have removed and added the printer from my iMac more times than I can recall.

When it works, this is a great printer. My frustration with a printer that constantly drops WIFI connectivity is enough to make me want to throw it in the trash! If an HP rep has a suggestion other than the standard, useless template I would love to hear it.
