HP Deskjet 3755
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I just bought a Deskjet 3755 printer. When I put it in sleep mode, nothing changes. All the lights, etc remain the same. They don't dim, or do anything different. It is very annoying as my whole room stays lit up all night long. I have all upgrades, etc done.

@2_Lake-we-go, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the printer is not going into sleep mode. Let us try these steps:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

1. Print a wireless test page to obtain the IP address of the printer

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.
  • Both a Network Configuration Page and a Wireless Network Test Report print.

2. Open a web browser and type the IP address in the top address bar.

  • If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.

3. Click the Settings tab. In the Power Management section, click Energy Save Mode, and select the desired option.

4. Click Apply.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
