Hi @CC19999,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are to reset the administrator password on your second-hand HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Get the Printer’s IP Address:

  • From the printer's control panel, press the Wireless icon or Ethernet icon to see the printer’s IP address.

Access the Printer's EWS:

  • Open a web browser on your computer.
  • Type the printer’s IP address into the browser’s address bar and press Enter.

Login to the EWS:

  • You will be prompted to enter the administrator password. If you do not know the password, proceed to Method 2.

Method 2: Reset Printer to Factory Defaults (Hard Reset)

This will remove the current administrator password and reset all settings to factory defaults. Note that this will also erase all network settings.

On the Printer Control Panel:

  • From the Home screen, swipe left to open the Setup menu.
  • Select Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.

Confirm the Reset:

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.

Reconfigure the Printer:

  • After the reset is complete, you will need to set up the printer as if it were new, including network and administrative settings.

Once the reset is complete, you can set a new administrator password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
