Hi @BEME2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M183fw is unable to connect to Wi-Fi, and your router does not have a WPS button. No worries — you can still connect your printer to the wireless network manually.
Option 1: Connect Using the Printer Control Panel
- Turn on the printer and make sure it’s not in sleep mode.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to:
- Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
- The printer will search for available networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard.
- Wait for the printer to confirm connection.
This method works even if your router does not support WPS.
Option 2: Use the HP Smart App (Recommended by HP)
- Download the HP Smart app from HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store.
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
- Tap “+” to add a new printer.
- If your printer is not found, reset Wi-Fi setup mode:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for 5 seconds until the wireless light blinks.
- Follow the app’s instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.
