HP Envy 5540 Printer Connection To Router Failure

HP Recommended
HP Envy 5540 All in one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there. Borg46 here. Desperately trying to re-connect my HP Envy 5540 inkjet all in one printer to my Virgin Media hub 3 router following router reboot on Friday night. Tried all day yesterday and failed to reconnect printer to router which had been fine until Friday.

Test report said  I needed to re-enable Mac filtering on provider's web account which I did but after re-booting printer now still failing to reconnect to router.

HP scan and print doctor advises trying to uninstall wireless drivers on laptop and install USB driver but a bit reluctant to do this in first instance given previous printer software issues as would presumably also mean cancelling off and taking out new ink ordering account with HP.

At end of my tether and urgently need printer and scanner for kids' home schooling tomorrow. Does anyone have a quick fix please before I uninstall wireless printer and install USB drivers? Huge thanks in advance.

@Borg46, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To reconfigure the printer, follow the steps from the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

Additionally, refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help.

If you still have issues, use the guided troubleshooter Troubleshooting | Wireless Printing Center for instruction to isolate and resolve the issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
