Hello,
I've had my printer for years. But in the last year or so, its stopped printing wirelessly .
I've haven't changed the laptop which runs 64bit Windows 11. My router from EE and i've had that a while now.
The blue light on the printer front is not flashing. It connects to Instant Ink ok. I know this as my daughter turned off the printer for a day or so and I didn't notice and I got a email from hp/Instant Ink telling me off as they couldn't monitor ink levels !
I can print with a USB lead connected from printer to pc ok. In the PC settings, under Printers, it says Driver unavailable. Printer offline. I've tried a reset and deleting every HP app from the laptop and re-installing everything direct from the website and i swear it was working ok but now its gone the same again.
If it makes a difference, printer is in house upstairs and EE router downstairs.
Any suggestions please. I'm looking to sell the printer and I need to solve the problem.
Thanks.

@lizzy28, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Printing Issues with HP Envy 5640!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Envy 5640 printer has stopped printing wirelessly, there are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure the blue wireless light on the printer is not flashing. If it is off, try reconnecting the printer to your wireless network.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer, computer, and router to refresh network connections.
Re-establish Wireless Setup:
- Use the HP Smart App or the printer's control panel to re-establish the wireless connection. Follow the instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can do this through the HP Smart App or from the HP website.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download and install the latest drivers from the HP website.
Check Network Settings:
- Verify that your printer and computer are on the same network. Check the IP address and make sure it matches the network.
Check for Instant Ink:
- Since the printer connects to Instant Ink correctly, ensure that the Instant Ink service is not interfering with wireless print jobs. Sometimes Instant Ink connectivity issues can affect printing.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
