Microsoft Windows 11

I was printing some things when my printer ran out of paper. When I closed the tray after adding paper, all the lights started flashing.  I restarted the printer, and the lights went off, but now it will not connect to my wifi.  I have disconnected the power cord from my printer, and restarted my router, but nothing seems to work.

@Deedee117, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Envy 6055e printer flashes all lights and loses Wi-Fi connectivity after a paper-out situation, it’s often a sign of a temporary firmware glitch or wireless module hang-up. Here's a step-by-step guide to get your printer reconnected to Wi-Fi:

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

This clears the saved Wi-Fi data and prepares the printer for fresh setup.

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (🟦 or 📶 icon) and the Cancel (✖️) button together for 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
  • This resets the network settings — the Wi-Fi light should turn amber or start blinking blue (indicating setup mode).

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

Now, you need to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app.

On your Windows 11 PC:

  1. Make sure your PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi you want the printer to use.
  2. Open the HP Smart app. If you don’t have it, download from the Microsoft Store.
  3. Click “Add Printer”.
  4. HP Smart should detect the Envy 6055e in setup mode. Click it to start the connection process.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

  • On your PC, go to Wi-Fi settings and look for something like HP-Setup-ENVY-6050 series.
  • Connect to it, then go back to HP Smart to continue setup.

Optional: Factory Reset (if above fails)

If none of the above works, try a full reset:

  1. Power on the printer.
  2. Open the cartridge access door (where you insert ink).
  3. While the door is open, press and hold the Cancel (✖️) and Wireless (📶) buttons for 10 seconds.
  4. Close the door and wait for the printer to restart.

This resets all settings and may help restore normal function.

I hope this helps.
