Hey!
Changed ISP, new network is found but it says wifi has no encryption so I cannot connect to wifi. Tried restart, unplug, router unplug, no success. Please support. Interestingly, for other encrypted networks password need is recognised.

Hi @VinerDaffy,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the "WiFi has no encryption" message indicates that your HP Envy Photo 6230 printer detects the network as open (not secured), even though your other devices may connect with encryption. Here's how to troubleshoot:
Step 1: Confirm Network Encryption Settings
- Log in to your router's settings:
- Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address (usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
- Log in using your admin credentials.
- Check the encryption type:
- Look for WiFi Security or Wireless Settings.
- Ensure the network is set to WPA2-PSK (AES) or WPA3-PSK, which are standard secure encryption methods.
- Avoid using WEP or an open (unencrypted) network.
- Save your settings and restart your router.
Step 2: Forget and Reconnect the Network on the Printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Select Restore Network Settings or Forget Network.
- Restart the printer.
Step 3: Manually Connect the Printer
- Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your network from the list.
- Enter the password carefully (case-sensitive).
- If the printer still shows "No Encryption," double-check the network settings on your router.
Step 4: Test Connectivity via HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Try adding the printer again.
- If prompted, select your encrypted WiFi network and enter the password.
Step 5: Perform a Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
If the printer's firmware is outdated, it may not recognize some newer encryption types:
- Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
- Download the latest firmware for your printer from the HP Support website.
- Install the firmware update.
Step 6: Factory Reset (if necessary)
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Reconfigure the network settings and attempt to connect again.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
