Hi @HGX,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When the Wi-Fi button on your HP LaserJet Pro M118dw blinks blue, it usually indicates that the printer is not connected to a wireless network. Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Make sure your printer is within the range of your Wi-Fi network.
  • Verify that your Wi-Fi network is working properly.
  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi password is correct if your network is secured.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the light blinks, then release it. This will initiate the Wi-Fi Direct mode.
  • On your Mac, go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners."
  • Select your printer from the list and click on the "-" (minus) button to remove it.
  • Click the "+" (plus) button to add the printer again. Choose your printer from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your Mac.
  • After restarting, check if the Wi-Fi button on the printer remains solid blue, indicating a successful connection.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
  • If updates are available, follow the instructions to update the firmware.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure that there are no devices or obstacles causing interference with the Wi-Fi signal.
  • Consider moving the printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.

Network Settings:

  • Make sure that the printer and the Mac are using the same network.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi settings on your Mac to confirm that it is connected to the correct network.

Printer Status Page:

  • Print a network configuration or status page from the printer to check its current network settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
