Hey!

Hopefully, someone can help me with the issue.

 

Device - HP Laser 107w

Router - d-link dir-825

 

I've run into trouble with this printer. I've set it up as per instructions but each time I restart my laptop or stationary PC (all on the same network) the printer disconnects and shows that it is offline. And I have to restart the printer by holding the wi-fi button for 20 seconds. Could someone help with this one?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Are you using the HP Smart App on your PC? If not, you may try and install to see if that works: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142. If yes, uninstall and reinstall it.

 

If the issue persists, try these steps:

 

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

 

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Hey

 

So as per your instructions, I tried to install HP Smart App but it showed that my new printer is too old for him and that I should install another app.

 

Hp print and scan doctor showed that he fixed some issues and that everything should be smooth. Restarte my PC, and the printer is offline once again.

 

Tried to do the root reinstall of the software and the issue still persists.

 

Basically after restart my printer is not visible for my laptop and stationary PC as well.

 Create a TCP IP port:

 

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)

2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.

3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.

4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

Ok, I've tried the steps you mentioned above. It seems to work, however, it is not stable. Sometimes printer connects and shows that it is active within 2-4 minutes after I power up my Laptop and sometimes it doesn't even show it until I turn the push the power button. How to speed this up?

Assign manual IP to the printer-

The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers

Ok, I am starting to lose patience with this. How can I even assign manual IP to the printer if I can't access to the Embedded Web Service? How can I get the ID and Password? Trying "admin" for ID and WPS PIN Number that I got from the Network configuration for "password". Could you please assist me on this as soon as possible and in as many details as possible so that I don't have to Google thousands of threads to find something that can actually help? Otherwise this seems like a neverending story!
