@Areljay35, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Laserjet Pro MFP 283!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is constantly displaying an "offline" status on your Ethernet connection, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Network Connection
- Verify Ethernet Cable: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected between the printer and the router or switch.
- Check Router Port: Make sure the router port where the printer is connected is functioning properly. Test with another device to confirm.
- Network Connectivity: Confirm your network is working by using other devices to access the internet or local network resources.
Restart Devices
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 15 seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Router: Unplug the router’s power cord, wait for 15 seconds, and reconnect it. This can help reset network connections and resolve intermittent issues.
Restore Network Settings
- Reset Printer Network Settings:
- For printers with a touchscreen control panel:
- On the control panel, open the Wireless or Setup menu.
- Select Network Setup or Settings.
- Select Restore Network Settings.
- For printers without a touchscreen control panel, use control panel buttons to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer.
- For printers with a touchscreen control panel:
Ethernet Light Indicators
- Check Ethernet Indicators:
- Link Light: Ensure the green light on the Ethernet port is steady.
- Activity Light: Confirm the orange light is blinking. This indicates active network communication.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
