Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8720
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 multi-function device. Device Administration is locked and unusable because admin password is lost. I have tried to reset the printer but nothing changes. I can make no changes to any option in HP Utility. I have followed various instructions already posted including partial reset. I have attempted to reset the nvram but to no avail. There is no simple factory reset button; no process in any manual I have read that works.

My printer is online all the time. This morning I discovered that it had magically cured itself overnight. I don't understand why but I now have no admin password set and can manage the printer as I need to. Was it luck, miracle or HP?
