Hi @hwelter,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 printer back online, follow these steps.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to your network.
  • Check if there are any error messages or blinking lights on the printer.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cable for about 10 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

Check the Printer’s Network Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • You can print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to verify the network status.

Set the Printer as Default:

  • On your computer, open the Control Panel.
  • Go to Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 and select Set as default printer.

Restart the Print Spooler:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  • Right-click it, and select Restart.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and check if there are any driver updates available for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers if necessary.

Reinstall the Printer:

  • Go to Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners) on your computer.
  • Right-click on the printer and select Remove Device.
  • After that, click Add a printer to reinstall the printer.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • If the issue persists, check for any firmware updates for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 via the printer’s web interface or using the HP Smart app.

After following these steps, your printer should come back online.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
