Hi @Jakers2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
For the HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 not printing despite being visible on both your iPhone and MacBook, try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Restart Devices
- Power off the printer, iPhone, and MacBook.
- Restart the Wi-Fi router as well.
- Turn everything back on and check if the printer works.
Check Printer Connection
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone and MacBook.
- Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to confirm network connection.
Update Printer Drivers and Firmware
- Ensure the printer firmware is up-to-date. You can do this through the printer's settings or the HP Smart app on your devices.
- Make sure your MacBook and iPhone have the latest drivers and apps installed. Update the HP Smart app on both devices.
Clear Printer Queue
- On your MacBook, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 and clear any pending print jobs.
- On your iPhone, go to the print dialog and check if any print jobs are stuck in the queue.
Reset Printer Network Settings
- Reset the printer’s network settings by going to the printer’s control panel, selecting Settings > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network and try printing again.
Use HP Smart App
- Try using the HP Smart app to print from your MacBook or iPhone as it often provides a more stable connection.
Check for Error Messages
- Look at the printer's screen for any error messages (e.g., low ink, paper jam, or other issues) that might be preventing the print job from completing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
