Hi, @hawkergene

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 won’t turn on after removing a paper jam, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Power Connection:

  • Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the printer and a working electrical outlet.
  • If the outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure it’s turned on.

Inspect for Damage:

  • After a jam, check for any visible damage to the printer, especially around the area where the paper jam occurred. Look for any dislodged parts or foreign objects.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • While unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on.

Check for Error Lights:

  • If the printer has any LED indicators, check if they show any error codes or lights that could indicate specific issues.

Try a Different Outlet:

  • Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out any outlet issues.

Inspect the Power Cord:

  • Check the power cord for any signs of damage or fraying. If the cord appears damaged, it may need to be replaced.

Wait for Recovery:

  • Sometimes, printers need a little time to recover after a jam. Leave it unplugged for a while before trying again.

Check the Power Button:

  • Make sure the power button isn’t stuck or malfunctioning. Sometimes debris can prevent it from working properly.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
