Hi @Hans150,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Photosmart B100 printer is not connecting despite the SSID being correct, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Check Printer Connection Status

  • Ensure the printer's Wi-Fi is turned on. On the printer control panel, verify that the wireless icon or light is active.
  • If there’s a "Wireless Settings" option, confirm that the SSID (network name) matches your router's.

Restart Devices

  • Restart the printer: Turn it off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Restart your router: Unplug it, wait 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in.
  • Restart your computer or smartphone that you’re using to configure the printer.

Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

  • On the printer's control panel:
    • Access Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Select your network from the list and enter the correct Wi-Fi password.
    • Confirm the connection.

Ensure Network Compatibility

  • Ensure the printer and router are using the same frequency band. The HP Photosmart B100 likely supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so confirm that your router has the 2.4 GHz band enabled.

Test the Connection

  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer:
    • On the control panel, go to Tools > Print Wireless Test Report.
    • Check for errors and resolve any listed issues.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest firmware for your printer. Connect the printer to your computer via USB if the wireless connection isn’t available.

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer, go to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that MAC address filtering or network isolation (guest network) is not blocking the printer.
  • Add the printer’s MAC address to your router’s allowed devices list, if necessary.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor on a Windows PC to diagnose and fix connection issues.

Try a Manual IP Address

  • If the printer still won’t connect, set a static IP address:
    1. Print the Wireless Network Test Report to find the current IP address (if available).
    2. On a computer, access your router’s settings and reserve the printer's IP address.
    3. Input the IP address into the printer’s wireless settings manually.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
