Hi @jkcran,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To reconnect your HP ENVY 5530 printer to Wi-Fi after getting a new router, you may need to adjust the router settings to disable any filtering that might be preventing the printer from connecting. Here's how you can do it:
1. Access Your Router Settings
- Open a Web Browser: On a device connected to your Wi-Fi network, open a web browser.
- Enter Router IP Address: Type the router's IP address into the address bar and press Enter. Common IP addresses for routers are 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.1.254. Check your router's manual if you're unsure.
- Log In: Enter your router's username and password. These are usually printed on the router or provided by your ISP.
2. Disable MAC Address Filtering
- Find the MAC Filtering Section: Look for a section in the router settings called "MAC Filtering," "Access Control," "MAC Address Control," or something similar.
- Disable MAC Filtering: If MAC filtering is enabled, either disable it or ensure that the printer's MAC address is added to the list of allowed devices. The MAC address of your printer can usually be found on a label on the printer or in the printer's network settings.
3. Reconnect Your Printer to Wi-Fi
- Printer Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon or go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
4. Restart Devices
- Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Restart Router: Restart your router to apply any changes.
- Restart Devices: Restart your computer or any devices you plan to print from.
5. Install Printer Software
- Download Software: Go to the HP Support website and download the latest software and drivers for the HP ENVY 5530.
- Install Software: Follow the installation instructions to install the software on your computer and set up the printer.
6. Test the Connection
- Print Test Page: Try printing a test page from your computer or device to ensure the printer is connected and working properly.
Additional Tips:
- Update Router Firmware: Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.
- Check Network Settings: Make sure your router's network settings (like SSID and password) are correctly configured.
- Check Printer Settings: Make sure your printer is set to use DHCP to obtain an IP address automatically.
If you continue to have issues, you may want to contact your router's customer support for assistance with disabling filtering and ensuring your network settings are configured correctly.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
