Hi @Gillian52,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 3630 printer is producing blank sheets of paper despite changing the cartridge, reinstalling the printer, and performing cleaning processes, it suggests a problem with the printer’s print mechanism or settings. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue:
1. Check Ink Cartridges
Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure the ink cartridges are installed correctly and securely. They should click into place and not be loose.
- Verify that you’ve removed any protective tape or plastic from the cartridges.
Ink Levels:
- Confirm that the new cartridges have sufficient ink. Sometimes, even new cartridges can be defective or dry.
Cartridge Alignment:
- Perform a cartridge alignment using the printer’s control panel or HP software. Misaligned cartridges can cause printing issues.
2. Check Printhead
Printhead Cleaning:
- Perform a printhead cleaning through the printer’s software. Most HP printers have an option for cleaning the printhead in the maintenance or tools section.
- If cleaning does not help, try a deep cleaning cycle if available.
Manual Cleaning:
- Carefully remove the printhead and clean it manually with a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid using too much water and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Check for Blockages:
- Inspect the printhead area for any paper or ink residue that might be causing blockages.
3. Check Printer Settings
Print Settings:
- Open the print dialog on your computer and check the print settings. Ensure that the correct paper type and quality settings are selected and that Color or Black & White printing is properly configured.
Printer Defaults:
- Reset the printer settings to default if possible. Sometimes incorrect settings can cause printing issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
