Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've tried all of the advice given to the previous posters of this question. Drivers, firmware, stable IP etc.  The only thing that works is to unplug the printer and restart it. (Turning the power on and off does nothing).  And when I open up my laptop for the next session, I'm faced with the same problem.

Any advice would be welcome; otherwise it will have to be returned and we'll change to another brand.

True - When all has been tried, there is little room for new ideas.

Suggestions notwithstanding, you must do what is right for your situation.  We never judge what people decide.

------------------------------------------------

If the printer won't stay on the network, perhaps take another look at how you have configured the network and the way the printer is connected.

For example --

  • If not done, consider assigning a manual / static IP address to the printer on both printer and the router that controls your network.
  • Add / Configure manual IP addresses for all the other devices on your network to prevent random reassignment of IP connections when systems are added / removed from the "connected devices" list in the router.
  • If necessary, and depending on your network configuration, set the printer to connect to Band Frequency 2.4GHz or 5GHz as opposed to both.
  • Wireless not working?  Opt for Ethernet for a more stable environment.
  • Wireless depends on an clean and obstruction free environment.
    • 2.4GHz is less fussy about obstacles and supports a longer distance (separation) between router and device (printer)
    • 5GHz is faster
  • Check the router logs -- examine how the router views the printer's connection and status.
  • An Older suggestion -- on the computer side, Connect the printer using TCP/IP.

Example - EWS - IPv4 Configuration

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Network > Primary Ethernet > Check / Adjust Status and other tabs...

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Network > Wi-Fi > Section IP Config > IPv4

Notes

  • It is not mandatory that you use a manual / static IP address.  Doing so can improve stability.
  • If needful and if supported, set the Band Frequency to the frequency you want the printer to use.

Example - EWS - IPv4

EWS_9135_Network_Wi-Fi_IP_Config_IPv4_2EWS_9135_Network_Wi-Fi_IP_Config_IPv4_2

-------------------- --------------------

Method – Windows - Create TCP IP port (InkJet Printer) - Change connection type

Method - Create / Change-to TCP/IP port

TCP/IP can resolve odd connection, scanning, and installation problems.

Create / Switch to a TCP/IP Port to facilitate communication and prevent ‘offline’ issues
