I have been using the 2 year old printer for two years now with no issues along with a second printer. Both printers now say they are offline and I know they were both made prior to 5g network. After reinstalling HP Smart, running through the HP print & scan DR., shutting down my router, printer and computer, then after starting them back up in the same sequence and setting up the printer to the computer, it says I am trying to set up the 3g to 5g and it won't work. What are the solutions please. I also tried putting in the 3g network name we had, as the router was not changed out when service changed over.

The m227 supports both 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band but all I have read is that the 5ghz band has too weak a signal to be used.
Dual band printers works best at 2.4ghz. I assume you have a dual band 2.4 and 5ghz modem and that the same SSID (name) is used for both bands. I recommend you log into the modem and configure the SSID of the 2.4ghz band to something else. You should use the same password and keep it simple such as only numeric digits.
If you look at this setup video at 2:23 you can see PIZZAM21 and PIZZAM215G which is an easy way to be able to identify the bands.
Do not enter the name of the SSID into the printer. You must let the printer find the SSID. When your 2.4ghz band SSID shows up then select that and enter the password.
When logged in the modem be sure to run the app that finds the best channel.
Be sure to find the channel that has the least amount of noise
If you have a flex system (multiple WiFi boosters) then you need to assign each printer to have a fixed IP address. Let me know if you need help with that.
let me know if a problem.
