macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I have a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw, and been using it for more than a year, without issue.  As of yesterday, it has not been detected as 'online' by my computer, or as 'connected,' even though the printer settings state wireless is on.  This may be due to the printer itself being unable to identify my modem.  I tried manually entering my modem and password, without success.  I used both the default name and password as well as the most recent ones, and neither are found.

I have powered on and off everything -- the computer, printer, and the modem.  And my internet service company has reset my modem, as well.

I also tried a new HP Easy Start; curiously, when I tried to connect my printer to my network, the easy start interface stated my device is unable to connect with 5Hz when it previously has not had any trouble.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

@CatherineSmith

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?
  • Could you share the screen where it's asking for the password?
  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? Try connecting to the 2.4GHz network.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
