Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Help please I went over from an old Epson printer to the HP for my charity but I have never known such a slow torturous device. It takes 30 seconds just to open the program, (HP Smart?) then another 30 seconds to decide on the printer status, it seems to loose Wi-Fi in the middle of working, the only Wi-Fi product that does and it's right next to the signal. Scanning in any more than 300 dpi takes eons. Is there anything I can do to stick a rocket under it?
