How do I add my laptop to my wireless printer. I changed my ink cartiage and no text is printing.

I previously had my HP Officejet 6500A Plus wireless printer connected to my home phone line.  I no longer have a home line and would like to connect my wireless printer to my laptop.  I installed a new ink cartiage and no text are printing on the paper.  Can you help me connect my laptop to the printer.  The wireless indicated is on and the printer is printing but no text on the paper when I print.

Hi @Sand2020

It seems like the issue is not related to wireless connectivity here as the printer is printing blank pages. If there was no connectivity, the printer would not print a blank page too.

This could be an issue with the printer. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Check estimated ink levels

  1. On the home screen of the printer control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

  2. Touch the Ink Status icon . The Estimated Ink Levels screen displays with gauges for all four ink colors.

  3. Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Use the automated tool to clean the printhead

  1. On the home screen of the printer control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

  2. Touch the Setup icon .

    The Setup Menu displays.

  3. Touch the down arrow , and then touch Tools.

  4. Touch Clean Printhead. The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints out a test page.

  5. If the print quality on the test page is not satisfactory, touch Yes to perform a secondary cleaning of the printhead.

There are two printhead cleaning stages. Complete both stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the second cleaning cycle to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
