I changed the modem on my WiFi so I need to change the WiFi password on my hp 7455e printer. Printer doesn’t have a screen. The WiFi arcs keep blinking and I get no connected to WiFi when I try to print.

Hi @CallieSD,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how confusing it can be when your HP Envy 6455e printer loses Wi-Fi connection after a modem change, especially since it doesn’t have a screen to guide you. The blinking Wi-Fi arcs are your printer’s way of saying, “I’m trying to connect, but I need new credentials.”

Let’s walk through the steps to reconnect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network with the updated password.

Reconnect HP Envy 6455e to New Wi-Fi (No Screen)

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download HP App
  2. Reset Wi-Fi Setup Mode
    • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button (the one with the arcs) and the Cancel button (X) together for 5 seconds.
    • The Wi-Fi light will start blinking blue, indicating it’s in setup mode.

  3. Open HP App
    • Tap “+” Add Printer.
    • The app should detect the printer in setup mode.
    • Follow the prompts to connect it to your new Wi-Fi network.

Option 2: Use WPS (If Your Router Supports It)

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
  2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
  3. Wait for the Wi-Fi light to turn solid. This means the printer is connected.

If Setup Fails

  • Restart your modem/router and printer.
  • Make sure your phone or PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Try setup again using the HP app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
