Hi @Sam1079,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP printer to a new Wi-Fi network, you'll often need to reset the printer's network settings and set it up again. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process.
Resetting Your HP Printer's Network Settings
Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.
Access the Control Panel: Depending on your printer model, you might need to navigate through the printer's display screen.
- For printers with a touchscreen:
- Go to Settings or Network.
- For printers without a touchscreen:
- Press the Wireless button or hold it for about 5 seconds (look for a button with a wireless icon).
Restore Network Defaults:
- In the settings menu, look for an option like Restore Network Defaults or Reset Network Settings. Confirm any prompts to complete the reset.
Reconnecting Your Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network
Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
- If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press the Wireless button on your printer.
- Using the Printer's Control Panel:
- Go to Settings > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the Wi-Fi password.
Download and Install the HP Smart App (if you haven't already):
- This app can help you with the setup process.
- Download it from the HP Smart App website or your device's app store.
Set Up the Printer:
- Open the HP Smart app and add your printer.
- Follow the prompts to connect to your new Wi-Fi network.
Note:
- Check Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
- Restart Your Devices: Restart your printer and router to refresh connections.
- Update Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware. You can check this in the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
