@Udgafbutch, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Envy 6055!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It looks like your HP Envy 6055 printer is not showing up on your app after changing your home Wi-Fi. No worries—I’ll guide you through some steps to find the printer’s IP address and reconnect it.

Check if Your Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi

Since you changed your Wi-Fi, the printer might still be trying to connect to the old network. Let’s check:

Print a Network Configuration Page:

  • Press and hold the Information (i) button on the printer until all the control panel buttons light up.
  • Then press the Information (i) and Resume (🔄) buttons together.
  • This will print a page with network details, including the IP Address (if connected).

Find the IP Address on the Printed Page:

  • Look for "IPv4 Address" under Wireless Summary.
  • If it shows 0.0.0.0, the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi yet.

Manually Enter the IP Address (If Printer is Connected)

If your printer has an IP address, you can manually enter it in your app:

  1. Open the HP Smart App on your device.
  2. Tap the + (Add Printer) option.
  3. Choose Add Printer Manually and enter the IP Address you found.

Reconnect Printer to New Wi-Fi (If No IP Address Found)

If your printer is not connected to Wi-Fi, follow these steps to reconnect:

Reset Wi-Fi Setup Mode:

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi (📶) and Cancel (X) buttons together until the power light blinks.
  • This will reset the network settings.

Reconnect Using HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart App and select Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi.

Once connected, try printing a Network Configuration Page again to confirm the IP address. Let me know if you need further assistance! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello thank you so much but it isn’t working. I tried to get the IP address and it prints a blank page and also tried disconnecting it from the old wifi with the x and wifi button but it printed a paper with symbols of a wifi connection. On my app it never detects the printer and my wifi signal blinks non stop.

@Udgafbutch, Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know what's happening—sorry to hear the issue is still lingering! No worries, we’ll work through this together step-by-step. 😊

Since the printer is printing a blank page or symbols instead of the network configuration details, it sounds like the printer might not be establishing a proper connection with the Wi-Fi network. Let’s try a few more targeted steps to troubleshoot this:

1. Restart Your Printer and Wi-Fi Router

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and wait for it to come back online.
  • Once the router is stable, plug in the printer and turn it on.

2. Manually Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

Let’s try resetting the network settings to clear any old or conflicting connections:

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi (📶) and Cancel (X) buttons together until the power light blinks.
  • After the reset, open the HP Smart App and try adding the printer again.

3. Try an Alternate Method to Find the IP Address

If the network configuration page isn’t printing correctly, you can also find the IP address using the printer’s built-in menu:

  • On the printer, press and hold the Information (i) button until all buttons light up.
  • Then press the Wi-Fi (📶) button once—it should print the network status page.
  • Look under "IPv4 Address"—if you see something like 0.0.0.0, the printer is not connected yet.

👉 Quick Questions to Help Diagnose:

  1. Is the Wi-Fi light on the printer solid or blinking?
  2. Is your Wi-Fi network on a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band? (HP Envy 6055 works best on 2.4 GHz).
  3. Have you tried disabling any VPN or firewall on your device that might be blocking the connection?

Let me know what happens—we’ll figure this out together! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
