Hi!

Recently I bought a HP Envy 6130e and tried to install it. But every time the wifi connection failed when using the HP Smart app. Then I tried to search via the printer for wifi networks, but it couldn’t find any. I resetted to factory default, did manual search for wifi, and it worked for only seconds.

Tried factory resetting 4 times, and after that I sent the printer back to the shop. They switched it for a new one.

But now, this one acts exactly the same!

For instance, trying to search wifi networks on the printer, shows 0 results, just an empty screen. While on my phone I see multiple networks (also neighbours).

I do not know what to do!

@Thijs2095,  Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Refer printer's User manual for printer specific steps.

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

You can turn on Wi-Fi from the printer control panel.

  • On the control panel Home screen, touch Menu.
  • Scroll to Utilities and touch Settings.
  • Touch Network, and then touch Wi-Fi.
  • Touch the toggle button next to Wi-Fi to enable the Wi-Fi mode

This clears any old Wi-Fi credentials, allowing you to reconfigure the printer for the new network.

2. Reconfigure Printer Wi-Fi Setup

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer again (it should blink rapidly if it’s not already connected).
  • Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app or the printer's web-based setup page (accessed via the printer's IP address) to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.

3. Check Your Router’s Compatibility

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is using the 2.4 GHz frequency, as the LaserJet P1102W may not be compatible with 5 GHz networks.
  • If your new router is dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure the printer is connecting to the correct band.
