Model name: hp officejet pro 6968 all in one

Model # : 6960

My printer recently started going to a blank screen on the touch screen. Every time I have to push the power button on to 'refresh' the printer.

Also, I am unable to get my printer to print from my phone (galaxy a71. Os: 11) nor from my laptop: (windows home 10. Version: 21H1. Os build: 1904.1055).

I have tried several times to uninstall & reinstall my printer, including trying to install the WiFi direct version of my printer which won't install. 🙄

This is very frustrating. All apps are up to date.

@fierce_zebra_5, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to print. Let us try these steps:

Unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer.

Check if the power cable is firmly connected on both ends.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC

Check the connectivity between the printer and the computer/mobile.

To assist you better, do you get any error messages while trying to print?

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue on the computer

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

Use the HP Smart app to print from your mobile device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I was able to do all that you asked and the touch screen on my printer still goes blank at random times. I have to push the power button to get it to 'turn on' again.

In this case, I'm afraid it could be a hardware issue with the printer display. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

My product is out of warranty. Would this make a difference in the hardware issue of a blank touchscreen on my printer?

That's unfortunate. If the printer is out of warranty, it does not qualify for a replacement. If the issue is bothering you, then I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
