Hi @KyranRay,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer is stuck in a loop where it's not properly canceling the print job. Here’s a step-by-step approach to resolve the issue.

Cancel Print Jobs from the Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, press the X or Cancel button to try to stop the current print job.
  • If the printer has a screen, navigate to the print queue and select "Cancel All" if available.

Cancel Print Jobs from Your Computer:

  • On your computer, go to the Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners section in the Control Panel or Settings.
  • Find your HP OfficeJet 4650, right-click on it, and select See what's printing.
  • In the print queue window, find the job(s) that are stuck and right-click on them. Select Cancel or Cancel All Documents.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the issue persists.

Reset the Printer:

  • If power cycling doesn’t help, try resetting the printer to factory settings. Check the user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset. This usually involves navigating through the printer’s menu.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes, updating the printer’s firmware can resolve issues like this. Visit the HP website, enter your printer model, and check for available firmware updates.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer, then reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

Inspect the Printer:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer.
  • Check the ink cartridges to make sure they are properly installed and not empty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
