Hi @amj1979 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration, and I'll do my best to help you resolve the issue. Let's go through the troubleshooting steps:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that both your laptop and the HP Envy 4500 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi on your printer is turned on.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both your laptop and the printer.
  • Turn them back on after a minute or two.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your laptop. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your laptop's list of printers.
  • Reinstall the printer by adding it again. Go to your laptop's settings, devices, and printers, then add a printer.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a free tool provided by HP to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. It can automatically fix various issues.

Check for Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Check Instant Ink Status:

  • If your printer mentions www.hpinstantink.com, it's possible that there's an issue with your Instant Ink subscription. Visit the website and log in with your Instant Ink account details to check your subscription status.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
