Hi @RajatPrinter,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that you are facing wifi connectivity issue and I feel your pain, let us work together to try and resolve this issue.
Before we move ahead, Could you please let me know if you have installed the HP smart app on your device already?
Also,
- Ensure your printer and the router are close enough to each other.
- Ensure both your printer and the device from which you are trying to print are on the same wifi network.
- Ensure location and bluetooth is turned on in your mobile device.
Preliminary Checks:
Before troubleshooting, ensure the following:
- The printer and router are placed close enough for a strong Wi-Fi signal.
- Both the printer and the device (computer or mobile) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth and Location services are enabled on your mobile device (required for HP Smart app setup).
Restarting All Devices:
Steps to Restart:
- Restart your computer or mobile device.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi printer:
- Press the Power button to turn it off.
- If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the power source.
- Restart the Wi-Fi router by unplugging it from power, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
- If your computer or mobile device was previously connected to the Wi-Fi network, disconnect and reconnect to the correct Wi-Fi network (same as the printer).
- Turn on the printer:
- If necessary, reconnect the power cord and turn it back on.
- Note: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet for stable power.
- Turn on your computer or mobile device.
Reset the network settings and Reconnect the Printer:
Step 1: Uninstall the HP Smart App
- Remove the HP Smart app from your mobile device.
- Note: This will delete any previously saved printers in the app.
Step 2: Restore the Printer’s Wi-Fi Settings
Press and hold the Information button for 5 seconds until the control panel buttons light up. Press the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button at the same time for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks blue.
Step 3: Reinstall HP Smart and Reconnect the Printer
- Download the HP Smart app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Open the app and tap “Add Printer” at the top.
- Select your Wi-Fi printer and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect it to the network.
Additional Tips:
✔️ If the printer does not appear in the HP Smart app, restart your router and try again.
✔️ Ensure the Wi-Fi network is stable and not using a guest network or public Wi-Fi.
✔️ If the printer still doesn’t connect, try using Wi-Fi Direct as a temporary solution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
